Take the 8/1/2 x 11 paper off the gallery wall, expand into two more dimensions and into this millennium and you have the modern Artist Statement.

Play it in the gallery, put it on your website or your grant applications, and have it looping at your patron's soiree. Or use it to get a patron.

Phyllis Bramson: Love and Affection in a Hostile World
Painting/collaging in her Chicago studio, discussing her work with a minimum of artspeak and a maximum of intimate detail, she invites the audience for a revealing studio visit.
I used Bramson's written artist statement as the armature of this short documentary. Includes commentary by curators
Miranda McClintoc and Lanny Silverman.
Shown at the Chicago Union League Club at the gala awarding her their Distinguished Artist honor.

The Goal is Here: Lynn Basa Makes a Tapestry
Basa took the story of two teenage nuns -- who went to a frontier logging town and built a hospital -- and she created a tapestry, woven by hand in the medieval city of Kathmandu.
Basa describes the process and it's illustrated with her drawings and beautiful footage of the wool and the weaving in Nepal. I made the music.
